I think shaving the chest is optional. Or rather it depends on the quantity of chest hair and if the guy is willing to maintain the chest "clean". Back hair, on the other hand, should always be shaved. I really don't find it at all attractive.

NEVER SHAVE! Wax instead. Stubble on the face is sexy, stubble all over the chesk, arms and back is painful to look at and to touch.

I personally cannot stand back hair...but a little chest hair is OK. Try to make sure your chest or back hair isn't popping out the top of your shirt...ever!

NO. Don't shave your chest. If you have a back that looks like a bear...then maybe. But chest hair is sexy. Its manly and its you. When I meet a guy shaves, I immediately think stripper or just WAY too into himself.

I am not into hair myself, but waxing is a bit extreme. Then you always end up with prickly stubble (which is NOT sexy). If you are overly hairy, I would suggest trimming with an electric razor (unless you are planning on waxing daily).
Back hair is nasty - I would suggest getting rid of it any way you can.

I think it depends on each individuals personality. Often times shaving ones chest or back may be out of character for the person, and may not give certain men confidence when in the bedroom or in a public setting. This question is similar to asking a guy if he would shave his legs! Shaving is part of ones lifestyle and culture. Look at the French for instance. If shaving makes you feel comfortable and confident, then go for it! Don't worry about what everyone else thinks.
